How much has the Internet grown since broadband was invented?

April 24, 2009

My guess is a lot, since I have been throttled I am experiencing “the dreaded days of  dial up” speed again. It is painful, it takes 2 minutes to download a simple 1 megabyte file.

So since broadband was invented I can imagine that is how the internet started to become what it is today. Although we are still left for wanting more. Will we be ever satisfied with the Internet speeds?

I think no, we are human and nothing less or nothing more. Although if we complain when we get 1GBps speeds there is definitely something wrong. But I suppose to keep up with the increased sizes of files we must increase our taste for faster download speeds and Google’s control.

News for my fellow geeks!

April 24, 2009

Okay you may be thinking what the hell is he doing now? but let me explain. I am now officially capped (my internet has been slowed down because I have used all my usage) so I have decided to blog here when my internet is slow as @#$%.

I will still blog at geeks, but it will not be at my usual rate (3 per a day). Instead I will post my favorite out of the three with a link down the bottom to here.

It is easier to blog here because I will write the posts through Live writer (what I am using now) and then publish them from it. It is twice as quick and just as good.

Thank you for clicking the link.

Google will take over the Earth!

April 24, 2009

What makes me think this is simple, Google is everywhere and anywhere. They have now got a social network that can potentially wipe Facebook off the earth, they have one off the best email clients and everyone uses it. Oh and severs all around the world.

Now you may be thinking that it is only things on the internet. That’s exactly right the world today revolves around the internet. It is more popular than sex! Google is like Iraq with oil.

But hey that’s my opinion and is not necessarily yours.

I now have the Eeenergy to blog.

April 24, 2009

Okay now that I have my netbook I can now blog more often. I have just received my Eee PC 1000HE and I am really amazed on how fast it is.

I have two blogs that I will be updating daily (hopefully). There is this one and my most popular one at geeks. Netbooks are the greatest tool and gadget for bloggers. We can blog on the go and provide feedback a lot quicker.

I must thank ASUS for providing us with these great inventions. I strongly recommend one.

PunkBuster is it needed???

April 17, 2009

I play COD:WaW pretty religiously probably 6 hours a day (minimum) and there is nothing worse that PunkBuster kicking you off because one of its own processes has failed. This has become so popular now people would rather have other players cheat.

I wouldn’t it is hard enough with n00b’s with Ppsh’s. But I am sick and tired of PunkBuster.

Have you had any bad experiences with PunkBuster? My online gaming addiction is suffering because of it, is yours?

Netbook the next smallest thing…

April 17, 2009

Ah netbooks, I can remember reading the review for the Eee PC 701 when it was first announced and I have been keen on these little machines for quite some time now. They are so perfect for traveling, blogging and a student. Anyone that does not own one should seriously consider one. They provide you with maximum connectivity almost anywhere and anytime.

But people tend to get bogged down on the small keyboard. If you are unsure of the keyboard and you are going to be buying online go down to your local store that sells these little beasties and try them out. I did it and I now know what every model looks like and feels like.

But when is a netbook not a netbook? Where can you draw the line? Its simple look at the original netbook the Eee 701, it had no optical drive it was light and had a target audience. So a netbook isn’t a netbook when it is bulky, has an optical drive and has been manufactured for a whole population.

Netbooks are going to be the future I can feel it. They will get more efficent and powerful as time goes on and will then become even more popular. Well thats my prediction.

Stupid Ppsh

April 17, 2009

I play the occasion team death match on Call of Duty: World at War and really enjoy it, that is until people that use the Ppsh. For those who don’t play WaW it has a high fire rate and medium damage. So when you have 20-30 people at a time using them in the same match it really ruins the fun. Not even my mate azzy plays on my server anymore because of this. The only way you can kill them is to sniper them.

But while you do a teammate of theirs comes up and knifes you in the back. It is SO frustrating.

This is the only way the n00b’s can play these days. Instead of going through the game and getting your arse raped you have to get the BFG and ruin the game.
